. For Reference... 2006-2015 Triumph 865 Scrambler OEM size is 525x106 X-ring chain, 18t Ft. Sprocket, 43t Rear Sprocket 2007-2015 Triumph 865 Bonneville OEM size is 525x104 X-ring chain, 18t Ft. Sprocket, 43t Rear Sprocket For QUICK ACCELERATION 17/43t gear ratio (quicker off the line, roll on's, wheelies), USE a 17 tooth front sprocket. (Default) -1t front sprocket is the most versatile way to gear it quick, this way you can switch back to a stock 18t with the same length chain. This quick ratio will be much quicker, but slower top speed with higher top gear cruising rpm's. For FASTER TOP SPEED , and LOWER Top Gear 18/41t CRUISING RPM's , Request a 18T FRONT AND A 41T REAR SPROCKET. This -2T sprocket is a change that will be faster top speed, but slightly slower off the line. * A 1 tooth change in the front is equivalent to a 3 tooth change in the rear.. but opposite effects. EXAMPLE: (-1 tooth front = +3 teeth rear) or (+1 tooth front = -3 teeth rear) EXAMPLE: (-1 tooth front and +1 tooth rear combined is the same as +4 rear only without changing the front) Stock gearing 18/43t is the factory calculated "happy medium" of both low end acceleration and top end speed.
