VINTAGE BATES MOTORCYCLE PILLION SEAT SADDLE HARLEY INDIAN LYCETT 1940S 1950S
Vintage Bates Motor Cycle Pillion Seat #7538. Very early seat from the Bates Manufacturing Company dating from the late 1940's or very early 50's. Unsure of the actual application. Originally had a strap fitted across the front. Appears to be a copy of the British company Lycett although the Lycett's base would have been horsehair and springs. Measure 11" by 11" by 5". As found condition, the cover is very dry. Very rare, the earliest Bates seat I have come across.
